LC of the Month: Maria from Texas

August 6, 2015 AYA 1 Comment

AYA is gearing up to welcome their 2015-2016 AYA students and we asked our National office to nominate LCs who have gone the extra mile and really shined this past month. New LC Maria from Texas is our LC of the month. Congratulations Maria!

Maria joined AYA this past spring as a Local Coordinator but has already proven to be an AYA gem! She believes in our mission and has proven this by all of the work she has done and continues to do for our program.

Regional Director, Nikki shares with us why Maria is our LC of the Month:

Local Coordinator Volunteer LC of the Month Academic Year in America

Maria has worked closely with our AYA Regional Directors, Compliance, and Field Staff teams in our national office, and really helped our organization out tremendously these past few months on a day-to-day basis. She completes her tasks swiftly and is always willing to go the extra mile. She is eager to assist in growing the LC community by referring quality LCs to the program. Not only has she taken quickly to her LC responsibilities but she is also welcoming a student in her own home this fall and has qualified herself and a companion to attend AYA’s National Meeting in Vienna, Austria in November.

Thank you, Maria, for joining the AYA team and for your tireless efforts and contributions to our program! We are all looking forward to meeting you in Vienna!

Maria has done a great job balancing all this with two young children at home. The Local Coordinator position with AYA gives you the flexibility to be home based and create your own schedule. Sound interesting to you? Find out how you can become an AYA Local Coordinator, today! Of if you are an AYA LC write to us: “How has AYA given you a better work life balance?” and send it to ayablog@aifs.org.

Maria has been a valuable asset to our family as 1st time hosts this year! Our area in west texas was also with out an LC, and she has truly gone above and beyond to make sure things flow well for the new LC and our 3 students (in the area) enjoy a smooth transition to America! Thank you, Maria!!!
