We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our outstanding exchange students who has truly embodied the spirit of learning, growth, and cultural exchange. Meet Isabell, our esteemed Student of the Month for April 2024! Originally from Germany, this exchange student has embraced new experiences, fostered cross-cultural connections, and left a lasting impact on her host family and community in Oklahoma. Join us as we delve into Isabell’s journey, celebrating her achievements, and reflect on the profound impact of hosting an exchange student.

The kindness of Isabell knows no bounds! She is always thinking of others and doing things like baking cookies for family and friends just to make their day. Isabell is an excellent student, achieving straight A’s all school year. She joined cheerleading just to learn and did so well they let her cheer during Basketball season. She helps around the house, cooks meals, trains our dogs, and is a constant source of amusement.

Isabell also loves volunteering, especially with animals. She can often be found volunteering at the local animal shelter. Isabell wants to find ways to help them all. She recommends to everyone that the animal shelter has the perfect dog for them. She just wants everyone to have a good day whether they have 2 legs or 4. So far, she has completed over 25 hours of volunteer time, including helping an injured horse work back to walking, an incredible accomplishment. Isabell epitomizes what an exchange student should be and we are so proud to have her as part of the AYA family.
