Meet exchange student Daniel, who is originally from France. Daniel has truly embraced new experiences, fostered cross-cultural connections, and left a lasting impact on his host family and community in Pennsylvania.

Why did you want to do an exchange year in the United States?
“I wanted to discover new things, foods and culture. Expand my horizons and learn from people. Improving my English.”
Tell us about your host family and why you appreciate them.
“I really like my host family because we have similar interests. I have a lot of fun with my host brothers.”
What have you learned about American culture and how have you shared your culture with Americans?
“I have experienced a lot of very American things. The most American things were probably Bass Pro and Buc-ee’s. But also the little things in day to day life. I visited the French class in my school for a day and talk about my country to the classes. Many conversations with people.”
