AYA Local Coordinator Appreciation Week: Meet Regenia from Ohio!

April 18, 2016 AYA 1 Comment

It’s Local Coordinator (LC) Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for each and every LC who gives their all to Academic Year in America and our students. Over the next two weeks, we’ll be highlighting some of these amazing, generous and compassionate individuals from the perspectives of the students they supervise in their area of the United States. We couldn’t bring the world together without you – all of you!

Up first is Regenia S. from Ohio! Check out why two of her students, Zainab from Pakistan and Liza from Ukraine, feel she is an incredible LC.

Regenia has been very supportive throughout the year, and has planned various activities for us. Recently she planned a road trip for us all the way from Ohio to Pennsylvania to New York to Niagara Falls and all the way back to Ohio. We had a lot of fun and did all sorts crazy things together. We also did some very educational enhancement activities. – Zainab Asghar, AYA Student from Pakistan

Regenia is an awesome person who has six kids, hosts two exchange students and teaches in the university, besides being a Local Coordinator. Nevertheless, she always has time for my silly questions and always comes up with cool ideas for Enhancement Activities. This spring break she took our class on an awesome adventure to Philadelphia, Gettysburg, New York City, and Niagara Falls. Regenia drove us all the way from Ohio. – Liza Odokiienko, AYA Student from Ukraine

One thing is clear: our Local Coordinators, like Regenia, really care about their AYA students and cultural exchange. Let’s continue to bring the world together, one student at a time.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the AYA family, consider exploring opportunities to become an AYA Local Coordinator.

What?! This is sooooo sweet! I’m so “verklempted.”. ? It’s easy to look good when you have great students to hang with like Liza and Zainab. Love, Hugs and AYA! ❤️
