We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our outstanding exchange students who has truly embodied the spirit of learning, growth, and cultural exchange. Meet Areeba, our esteemed Student of the Month for December 2024! Originally from Bangladesh, this exchange student on the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program has embraced new experiences, has fostered cross-cultural connections, and has left a lasting impact on her host family and community in Idaho. Join us as we dive into Areeba’s journey, celebrate her achievements, and reflect on the profound impact of hosting an exchange student.

Learn more from Areeba’s Local Coordinator Sheri about why she was nominated to be the December 2024 Student of the Month:

“She has such a great attitude and she is very motivated. She has done multiple cultural presentations, and has over 70 hours in community service. She is always eager to try new things and does it with such a sweet smile. Her host family loves her and she loves them. She is just the best, I can’t say enough good things about her. She does all this and is a honor roll student and is playing basketball.”

Areeba most recently helped her community by delivering gifts to families in need with her Local Coordinator’s family and another exchange student. She is an outstanding global citizen, representing her country by showing up again and again for her host community!
