Originally from Brazil, this exchange student has embraced new experiences, fostered cross-cultural connections, and left a lasting impact on her host family and community in Kentucky. Beatriz has embraced her experience in the United States and embodies what a great exchange year should look like! Beatriz, who has since returned to her home country, was very involved with her school, participating in several sports, such as cheerleading and soccer, and clubs, such as 4H. She created great relationships with her teachers and built a long-lasting relationship with her host parents.
Beatriz went from a big city to a town in rural Kentucky and adapted very well to this change. One way she did this was by taking every opportunity to get involved with her community. Beatriz did countless hours of community service with her host parents at her church, the library, and wherever she was needed. She always has a positive attitude and will be missed by all in her placement community!
