September LC of the Month: Debra from Indiana

October 14, 2015 AYA Leave a Comment

The fall semester is off to a great start for our students! And we know our Local Coordinators and host families play a huge role in their success, providing the support and encouragement they need to feel involved and a a part of the family!

As tradition, we always ask our students to nominate their LC to be the ‘LC of the Month’. We ask them to think about what their LC has done to really make their experience just that much better. This month Debra from Indianapolis has been selected and we are so proud to share with you what her students Celine from Germany and Rangari from India had to say about her.

“I think she is kind and has our best interests at heart. I know when I need support I can always count on her to resolve the problem or provide guidance”. – Celine, Germany

“Since I came as an exchange student from India, I’ve learned that Debra has a very affectionate personality and she is very helpful. I would not be enjoying my exchange year as much as I am, if it wasn’t due to her countless efforts in helping us settle in and motivate us to learn new things”. – Rangari, India

Debra has done a fantastic job supporting her students in their transition into American culture and helped them feel a part of it as well! If you are passionate about youth and international education, learn more about becoming an AYA LC, today!
