High School Sports Benefit Exchange Student

September 28, 2017 AYA 4 Comments

Korish from Pakistan lives with a host family in Corning, New York. He wrote the following about his experiences in sports diplomacy as an international exchange student on a varsity high school team.

The best thing is that I just made a varsity soccer team in Corning. I think playing sports or being on a varsity team as an exchange student is awesome. I think that it’s a kind of great opportunity for me to learn some new tactics and to experience the American culture.

According to me, it’s important for exchange students to play sports, because it will keep us busy and fit. Moreover, sports is the best way to prevent homesickness and other related problems. It will keep you so busy that you can’t even have time to think or miss your natural family, friends or parents.

I have learned many lessons while playing sports in the U.S. The big and the most important lesson is the sportsmanship, while the others are discipline, unity faith and trust. I love the rules & regulations and the way people follow it. Everything is just and fair and there’s no chance of any cheating.

ADVICE FOR FREE:

“If you lack friends or if you don’t have any friends or if you’re looking for good friends… trust me. Join sports and I promise you will get some good friends.”
