Out and About with Host Families and Exchange Students

Hosting a high school exchange student often inspires us to get out and explore our own community – or take that dream vacation we’ve been putting off. The following images were contributed by AYA host families and students having fun exploring together.

Katharine from Germany spent Easter in the Florida Keys and was able to kiss a dolphin!

Host mom and Local Coordinator Debbie C. took her two students, Maximilian from Germany and David from South Korea, on a family road trip through Washington State. One stop along the way was the Chihuly Gardens in the Seattle Center.

Svenja from Germany traveled with her host family to Cozumel, Mexico on Spring Break and received her scuba diving certification. Svenja is the fourth student the Weiss family has taken to be scuba certified. Way to go!

Stephanie S., a Local Coordinator in Colorado, took two of her students, Emma and Thalia, on an adventure run in the mountains. It was a three-mile run with obstacles and a sledding portion along the way.
